Bleitz Wildlife Foundation collection.

Collection consists of pamphlet about the Bleitz Wildlife Foundation and 3 color printed plates (printed in Germany) for the never-completed work by Don Bleitz, "Birds of America". The pamphlet describes the publication project, a description of the illustrations, and a list (with biographical details) of the 21 members of the Foundation's board. The pamphlet's date is established from a footnote which indicated one board member died in 1966.

The Bleitz Wildlife Foundation, devoted to wildlife preservation and study, was founded in 1952. Its main, unrealized objective was the preparation and publication of a multi-volume folio work, "Birds of America", to be written, photographed and edited by photographer and inventor Don Louis Bleitz.
